Leeds Covid vaccine clinic for women only planned for Reginald Centre in Chapeltown

The clinic in Chapeltown will be available for any woman who is part of an eligible age group, is an unpaid carer or has an underlying health condition.
It will offer a private space for women to have their vaccination among other women from their own communities.

The clinic is being run by the local NHS and Leeds City Council alongside the Women’s Lives Leeds alliance.
Jeanette Morris-Boam, project manager at Women’s Live Leeds, said: “Women’s Lives Leeds are proud to be part of this vaccine clinic, which has been informed and shaped by the views of women and girls in Leeds.”
She said initiatives like the week-long clinic were all part of its efforts to empower women in the city to lead safer and healthier lives, with their voices directly influencing service design.

Hide AdSam Prince, executive director of operations for the Leeds Covid Vaccination Programme, said the hope was that the clinic would encourage more people to have their vaccine and to remove any barriers that may prevent people from getting their jab.
Coun Salma Arif Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing at Leeds City Council, added: “I’m proud to be part of a city that is always looking for innovative new ways to increase uptake of the vaccine.
“The clinic aims to be a safe space for women to get vaccinated. I’m delighted with the collaboration between the NHS, women’s organisations, and the council to make this happen.”
The women’s-only drop-in clinic is being held at the Reginald Centre in Chapeltown Road from Monday May 24 until Friday 28 May, 10am-4pm.
