Leeds buildings lit up in yellow to mark Endometriosis Awareness Month
Campaigner Keisha Meek, who helped set up the National Endometriosis Sufferers Support group in 2017, has teamed up with Leeds City Council to raise awareness.
Endometriosis is a painful condition, as common among women as diabetes, which sees cells like those in the lining of the womb found elsewhere in the body.

Hide AdIt can impact on those of childbearing age, and can result in painful or heavy periods, chronic pain, fatigue and infertility.
There is no cure for endometriosis, and no known cause.
Keisha, who has spoken to the YEP previously of the impact the condition has had on her life, said: "I’d like to thank Endo WL, Jonathan Pryor and Leeds City Council, also the Mayor of Leeds for helping make this happen from all of us at National Endometriosis Survivors Support.
"I’ve just stood crying outside the museum, for years I’ve suffered alone and so have 20,000 other across the city.
"Reoccurring surgeries, a disease destroying our organs. We now know we are no longer alone.

"To know our city is behind us means the world.
"Thank you Leeds and I hope Leeds will lead knowing what endometriosis is."
The authority has looked into what it can do to raise awareness of the issue.

Hide AdRob Wilson shared photos of the city's landmarks, including the Town Hall and Civic Hall, lit up in yellow to mark Endometriosis Awareness Month, which runs through March.
