Hide AdCouncillor Salma Arif, Executive Member for Public Health at Leeds Council, praised the work of NHS teams and community services who helped to deliver the vaccination programme across the region, and urged people to book their vaccine when contacted.
"I want to congratulate Team Leeds who have really pulled together to achieve this.
“We still have a long way to go until we vaccinate as many adults as possible and I’d urge people, when they get the call, to book their appointment.”
Cllr Arif has already received her vaccine as she lives with her mum, who is in the clinically extremely vulnerable group.

“I know there are many people across Leeds who are providing care and support for family and friends who are less able or have an illness - thank you for what you are doing.
“We are keen to open up the city and vaccination is key to doing this safely.
“I’d just like to say thanks to the people across Leeds for how brilliant they’ve been throughout the pandemic. We will get through this.”
