A mural to cyclist Beryl Burton OBE was unveiled in the town during 1998 by her daughter Denise Burton-Cole and husband Charles. It was also a year in which Morley High School bounced back after a devastating fire. Morley Market benefited from a revamp with two celebrity look-a-likes turning out for the occasion.
