Man stabbed after 'machete and hammer' street brawl in Hyde Park

Police were called to Brudenell Road at 4pm on Wednesday (March 25) after reports of a fight near Chestnut Avenue, near Hyde Park Picture House.
Witnesses said some of the men were armed with a machete and a hammer.

Hide AdFootage posted on social media showed two men chasing another, who was following a black Peugeot driving slowly along Brudenell Road.
They appear to swing at each other with weapons before the man they are chasing gets in the car.
A young man running on the other side of the car falls over, and the two men pounce on him.
He gets up and eventually makes it to the safety of the car.

Hide AdThe two groups involved both left the scene in two black cars, according to West Yorkshire Police.
At 4.20pm, police were contacted by staff at Leeds General Infirmary who said a 20-year-old man had attended with a stab injury to his thigh.
He was treated and later discharged.
A scene was put in place in Brudenell Road to undergo forensic examination.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
