Trial date set for three men accused of murdering Christopher Lewis in Chapeltown

Steven Mark Grey, Jonathan Gledhlll and Denzil Brown face a possible trial in June next year over the death of Christopher Lewis.

Hide AdNo pleas to the charge were entered by any of the defendants.
All three will next appear before the court on January 17 for a plea and trial preparation.
A provisional trial date was set for June 3.
A trial would be expected to last around five weeks.
Gledhill, 37, of Dib Lane, Roundhay, and Brown, 49, of Parkfield Court, Morley, appeared in the dock of the court during the hearing.
Grey, 38, of Town Street, Armley, was not produced from custody.

Hide AdThe Recorder of Leeds, Judge Guy Kearl, QC, said all three defendants will remain in custody until the next hearing.
Mr Lewis died in hospital from his injuries a day after the shooting.
The incident is believed to have been a targeted attack.
The men were arrested on Wednesday by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
Five other people who were arrested as part of the investigation this week have been released on police bail while enquiries continue
