Leeds nostalgia: Film of Profumo Affair savaged by MPs during its 1989 release
The film was savaged by MPs, who said that since his retirement from politics, Mr Profumo had dedicated himself to charity work, earning an MBE for his troubles in 1975.
They argued the film would only heap disomfort upon both him and his wife by dragging the incident up again.
