Man in a serious condition after falling into a canal in Leeds

West Yorkshire Police were called by the ambulance service to Fleet Lane, between Woodlesford and Methley, at 8.30pm yesterday (Friday).
A man was in the water, closed to Lemonroyd Lock on the Aire and Calder Navigation.

Hide AdHe was rescued by by the emergency services before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene.
A police cordon was in place on Friday evening, but a West Yorkshire Police said today that the incident was not being treated as supicious.
The spokeswoman said: "At approximately 8.31pm yesterday (11/6), police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a concern for safety off Fleet Lane, Methley.
"It was reported a man was in the water, near to the Lemonroyd Lock.

Hide Ad"Emergency services attended and the man was removed from the water and taken to hospital in a serious condition.
"Enquiries remain ongoing.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
