THE article spelt out by Michael Meadowcroft about Leeds Bradford Airport, and problems with its location, made a lot of sense (YEP, January 30).

It is also around 1,000ft above sea level adding further handicaps.
Yorkshire deserves a far better site for an international airport, i.e. somewhere between Leeds and Hull.
Ideally, take 1,000 acres plus of land around Selby north of the M62.

The local residents would be pleased and greater prospects could be had by all with a brand new airport akin to Manchester.
