Hospitality venues were yesterday able to throw open their doors and allow customers inside after months of being barred from doing so.
“It’s been a difficult time for the staff, who have mostly been furloughed since March 2020,” said Gary Benn, manager at Cottage Road Cinema, which welcomed people back yesterday.

Hide AdAnd care home residents are now permitted to have two visitors attend at the same time, something the sector had been crying out for.
Sharing a meal or drink at a much-missed venue with a loved one will be something no-one will take for granted now.
But it is crucial that we continue to take a cautious approach as lockdown eases, particularly with rising UK cases of the India variant of Covid-19.
