Six months of roadworks on key Leeds city centre route
Roadworks have recently begun on a stretch of Whitehall Road, close to the junction of Northern Street.
The works, set to carry on until March at the earliest and which will include a new footway and cycleway, have resulted in a build-up of traffic due to a stretch of road being closed and making it one-way.

A spokesperson from Leeds City Council said: “The works taking place on Whitehall Road between Riverside Way and Northern street include a new footway, a new cycleway and upgrading the existing crossing to a toucan crossing.
“The work will be carried out at off-peak times to ensure there is as little disruption during peak times as possible.
“When work is taking place there will be temporary traffic lights.
