YEP is a class act for budding journalists in Leeds
Kippax Ash Tree Primary is among more than a dozen schools across the city taking part in the Let’s Read: LEEDS project, which launched at the start of last month.
Each child in participating classes gets a booklet filled with exciting activities designed to develop literacy skills.

Deputy head Kimberley Rolls said: “The children already produce their own newspaper on a half-termly basis.
“Getting the YEP has given them a fresh way of looking at what they do themselves.”
She added: “The scheme as a whole is brilliant, reading the paper provides the children with access to more mature texts and information about current affairs as well.”
