Louie Sibley of Derby County could, according to The Sun, be sacrificed in the remaining weeks on the transfer window amid administration fears for the Rams.
The delayed takeover by Sheikh Khaled's Derventio Holdings of the Championship side has left the club in limbo with players left unpaid.
To counter the threat of administration or being handed to their main creditors, Derby are reportedly open to selling a number of their key stars, including academy graduates Sibley and Jason Knight.
Whites director of football Victor Orta confirmed his interest in Sibley during the last transfer window. The YEP understands enquiries were made for the 19-year-old attacking midfielder.
Orta previously told the YEP: “We know them really well, their clubs were our rivals, we analysed [Cantwell] in the Premier League. But it's like a lot of players we've analysed.
"It's difficult. They are players we analysed, we have information and then we need to think about the possibility."
Another rumour which has resurfaced over the last 24 hours involves Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore.
Spanish publication Sport report Leeds want to sign the 24-year-old, but the Molineux club aren’t willing to sell for less than £35million.
Indeed, it is extremely unlikely the Whites will splash out such cash this month having spent big in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Leeds are also being linked with an in-form French striker.
Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Leeds and their Premier League rivals this morning:

6. Sidibe plays down speculation
Former Everton loanee Djibril Sidibe has played down speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle, Wolves and West Ham. He said: “For the moment, I am a player of Monaco. Unless the club tells me that it no longer counts on me, I do not see myself leaving right away.” (Foot Sur7 via HITC) Photo: Catherine Ivill
