Speaking after the game, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted his frustrations with the result, and claimed: “We had the initial 15 minutes in the first half, which was the best we played in the game.
“We defended well and we attacked well. In the final 30 minutes of the first half we stopped defending well and it’s difficult to attack when you don’t defend well.
“I think in the second half we defended and attacked well the whole half. Between the first half and the second half we had 60 minutes of good football.”
Meanwhile, down in the Championship, the relegation battle looks set to involve Yorkshire sides Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town.
