Leeds United defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at St James’s Park last night in the Premier League as clubs enter the final days of the January transfer window.
Clubs have a little over five days if they are to conclude any winter deals before the window slams shut on February 1 at 11pm.
Leeds looked comfortable when they took an early first-half lead through Raphinha, but allowed Newcastle back into the game and had to find a second goal in the second half to win it.
But Marcelo Bielsa admitted he struggled to find a solution to Leeds United's midfield problems against Newcastle United.
The Whites came under heavy pressure from Steve Bruce's strugglers yet came away with a 2-1 win that snapped their 2021 losing run.
"After the Harrison goal we lost the ball," said Bielsa.
"We only managed to recover the ball in the last five minutes of the game. They had 20 minutes in which they could have drawn the game...”
With the Whites having welcomed fresh investment from the San Fransico 49ers yesterday, could Bielsa’s midfield woes be solved during before the window closes on Monday?
