Yorkshire golf: Tom Broxup steps into Leeds line-up as they tackle champions
But he has an able deputy in Cookridge Hall’s Tom Broxup, holder of all four of the union’s major titles and recent winner of the Hawksworth Trophy.
And with Selby’s Robbie Wardle, youngster Dan Bradbury (Wakefield) and the host club’s Paul Croft also coming into the team that went down to a 24-12 opening defeat to Teesside at Cleveland, McKee is confident he has a line-up capable of sending defending champions Sheffield to a second defeat in as many ties.

“Tom North was playing a lad off plus five and he took him to the last, and Ryan Armitage’s opponent holed a 35fter on the last. It was up a big slope and if it had missed it would have gone six foot past, it was going that fast.
“It sounded like a real tubbing, but it wasn’t, so hopefully we can give Sheffield a game here and hopefully we can beat them.
“They’ve got that lad Ben Brewster, who shot eight under at Fulford recently, and people like Matt Evans, who’s been an England international.

McKee says the team will be soaking up as much information as they can from Croft, 30 years a member at Horsforth.
“Horsforth is a bit fiddly,” he says. “It’s one you need to know so with Paul Croft being a member there for so long, we’ll look to him to pass on advice.
“We’re getting to the stage where we’ve got a blend with some youngsters coming through the juniors to join the more experienced players.”
